Salem's Black History: Hiram Gorman was another Salem Black Pioneer.  He is buried at the Salem Pioneer Cemetery.  He was a veteran of the Civil War, and was known for his kindness and generosity to others. 2/10

On Friday, February 21st, there will be a field trip to Chemeketa Community College for members of the senior class.  This field trip is designed to assist any senior planning to attend Chemeketa in the Fall.  To sign up, please visit Ms. Dunn in the College & Career Center.  The deadline to sign up for the field trip is Wednesday, Feb. 19th.   2/18

All art students are invited to submit one entry into the YOUNG ARTISTS’ SHOWCASE at the Salem Art Association’ Bush Barn Gallery. It’s FREE to enter. Please see any of the Sprague art teachers for complete details and an entry form. Deadline to reserve space is Friday Feb. 14. 2/13

Hello American Sign Language fans!  Don’t forget that this Wednesday, the 12th at lunch, is the next ASL Club meeting.  It will be in room 119 (the ASL classroom).  Be sure to bring your lunch and ideas for deaf culture topics that you want covered this semester.  Looking forward to seeing you then! 2/12

Sprague!  Key Club is running our annual Thousand Soles shoe drive from February 18th through March 3rd.  Please bring in new or gently used shoes and place them in the boxes which will be located around campus.  Do something kind for others in your community who may be in need.  If you are curious, or want to volunteer, please see Ms. Harris in room 116.

Any girl interested in playing golf this spring – there will be a quick meeting during lunch on Tuesday.  The meeting will be in the ASPIRE room which is located near the College and Career Center. 2/11

The Sprague Olyannes dance team attended their first competition of the winter season at Stayton High school on Saturday, February 8 where they placed second in the show division. In addition, 10 of the 20-individual drill down awards went to Olyanne team members: freshmen Kayla Pobuda and Esther Thao, sophomore Jade Brown, juniors Sonya Frontino, Amanda Lutz, Arella Rodriguez Lentz, Marisa Bradley and Paulina Klee and seniors Hannah Li and Mackenzie Cooper.
