Congratulations to the #4 ranked Sprague wrestlers who defeated McNary in their home opener last night 63-9. The Olympians won 12 of the 14 matches with key victories from Brock McMullen, Devin Jeanes, & Cole Steketee. JV won 48-24. Great job wrestlers & good luck this weekend! 12/19

Congratulations to Sprague’s Speech and Debate team on their outstanding work this last weekend at the Grizzly Invitation held at Ashland High School. 16 Olympians competed against hundreds of students from across the state in various speaking and debate events. The following students earned the following honors. Dorian Azar placed 5th in Poetry Interpretation. Jade Hua placed 5th in Original Oratory. Elle McGuffie placed 4th in Dramatic Interpretation. Helayna Janes placed 4th in SPAR Debate. Roman Patchell placed 3rd in Informative Speaking. Dorian Azar placed 3rd in Humorous Interpretation. And Helayna Janes placed 2nd in Congressional Debate. Way to go Oly Speechies!

Kaiser Permanente Health Care Career Scholarship Program application closes this Friday, December 13th at 5 p.m.   This scholarship is available for a graduating senior who has a minimum weighted GPA of 2.50, planning to pursue an education and career from becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant, X-Ray Technician, Physical Therapist, or Dental Hygienist.  You can access the application at www.kp.org/kpnwscholarship . 12/13

Congratulations to the #4 ranked Sprague Wrestling team who won the 23 team Tyrone S. Woods Memorial Invitational this past weekend. The wrestlers proved their depth with solid placement performances from sophomores Bo Davis, Quincy Palomo, Branden Buncher, & David Sherman. Freshmen Elijah Byers, Riley Davis, Braeden Barkes, & Seth Carp also placed. Congrats Sprague wrestlers & good luck this weekend at the Rose City Championships. 12/10

Congratulations to the Sprague Olyannes dance team!  They successfully competed against the best teams in the state at the Fall Category Championships at Lakeridge High School on December 7 placing second in the Novelty category and third in the Modern category. In addition, 8 dancers qualified to compete in the individual drill down competition and 2 placed in the top 3:  freshman Esther Thao placed second in the novice division and senior Hannah Li won the advanced division becoming the fall drill down champion! Cheers to the Olyannes for a great fall season!

The wrestlers crowned three champions, sophomores Brayden Boyd and Brook Byers, & senior Noah Worthington. Finishing second was junior Owen Scott & seniors Colby Hemmert & Brock “Big Mac” McMullen. Congrats Sprague wrestlers & good luck this weekend at the Rose City Championships.

Congratulations to Sprague’s Speech and Debate team for their outstanding work this last Saturday at the Holiday Edge Invitational in Portland. 7 Olympians competed in several speaking and debate events against student from all across the state. The following students earned individual awards. Congratulations to Jade Hua for being a semi-finalist in Novice Division Spontaneous Argumentation. Kira Wright and Holley Cass placed 3rd in Novice Division Duo Interpretation. And Abby Boyd placed first in Novice Division Humorous Interpretation. Way to go Oly Speechies. Good luck this upcoming weekend at the Grizzly Invitational at Ashland HS.

Attention Sophomores who are attending today’s CTEC field trip, during lunch today, please report to the stage to pick up your CTEC showcase slip. You will need this slip on the fieldtrip, so be sure to put it somewhere secure! We will be leaving Sprague at 11:15am. When you hear the announcement releasing you from your 5th period class, report to the regular bus loading area at the North end of the building. Be sure to bring your showcase slip with you. We will return to Sprague at 2:00pm.

Sprague’s Thanksgiving Food Drive is officially underway! Give back to the Sprague community by donating to your 5th period class. This is a competition, and the class that earns the highest points will win a donut/hot chocolate party! Scoresheets are posted near the donation boxes. Perishable items may be donated today! 11/21

Be you a member of the LGBT+ community or an ally, please make sure you are there for your team peers and remember these lives were not taken in vain. A representative from the University of Montana will be visiting our campus today. 11/19

Staff from CTEC will be coming to Sprague today to discuss attending CTEC during the 2020-2021 school year. They will be meeting with all current sophomores and interested juniors at 11:30am during period 3 today. This presentation is reserved for sophomores and only juniors who are interested in attending CTEC. Students should report to their 3rd period class and listen for the announcement to be made to be released to go to the Pantheon. After Thanksgiving break, sophomores and interested juniors will have the opportunity to visit the CTEC campus on a field trip on Monday, December 2nd from 11:45am until the end of the school day.  11/19

The Sprague Olyannes dance team placed first in Novelty and first in the Modern categories against strong competitors at the Scappoose dance team competition on Saturday, November 16.  In addition, 3 dancers placed in the top ten of the individual drill down competition:  Freshmen Kayla Pobuda in the novice division and seniors Mackenzie Cooper and Hannah Lee in the advanced division. Congratulations to the Olyannes and Good luck to the team at the Fall Championships on December 7!
