Oregon Black History:  Carrie Halsell Ward became the first black woman to graduate from Oregon State University in 1926.  She went on to have a career in teaching.  She overcame barriers and in 2002 a residence hall was named after her at Oregon State.

On Friday, February 21st, there will be a field trip to Chemeketa Community College for members of the senior class.  This field trip is designed to assist any senior planning to attend Chemeketa in the Fall.  To sign up, please visit Ms. Dunn in the College & Career Center.  The deadline to sign up for the field trip is Wednesday, Feb. 19th.   2/18

All art students are invited to submit one entry into the YOUNG ARTISTS’ SHOWCASE at the Salem Art Association’ Bush Barn Gallery. It’s FREE to enter. Please see any of the Sprague art teachers for complete details and an entry form. Deadline to reserve space is today. 2/14

Sprague!  Key Club is running our annual Thousand Soles shoe drive from February 18th through March 3rd.  Please bring in new or gently used shoes and place them in the boxes which will be located around campus.  Do something kind for others in your community who may be in need.  If you are curious, or want to volunteer, please see Ms. Harris in room 116.

ATTENTION SENIORS! You must go by room #141, after school today to proof your senior portrait and quote for the yearbook. This is the FINAL PROOFING to check that everything is perfect before the publishing due date.

There will be an admissions counselor from the Central Oregon Community College will be visiting our campus next Tuesday, February 18th.  To sign up, you can use the College Visits link on the Sprague website. 2/18

Are you interested in a movie night with friends? Are you looking to help raise money for prom? Then come to our first Sprague movie night next Wednesday, February 19th where we will be showing “Spiderman Far From Home” at 6:30. There will be concessions and Italian sodas for sale. Tickets will be sold on the commons stage at lunch through Tuesday the 18th, as well as at the door. It cost $3 with ASB and $5 without ASB. Bring a camping chair and a friend! 2/19

Attention all track and field athletes, all tennis players, golfers, baseball and softball players, time is running out to sign up for a spring sport. If you are planning to participate, you must get your on-line registration completed as soon as possible. Go to the Sprague website for the link and get this taken care of today. Remember, you must be enrolled in and passing at least five classes and have a current sport physical on file. 2/14

Glow Dance is March 13th here at Sprague.  The form process and tickets sales begin on Tuesday, February 18th.  With the deadline of March 6th.  All fines and fees must be paid in order to purchase your tickets.  Please visit the Sprague Website and click on the Glow Dance link to get the forms and the procedure for turning in the forms.

Do you like helping sick children? Do you like eating Thai food? Now you can do both those things at the same time! Oly Pageant and Thai Cuisine of Salem are hosting an all-day fundraiser on Monday, February 17th. Come and enjoy some great Thai food while knowing that 15% of all profits are going to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. We hope to see you there. 2/14
