Congratulations to our Varsity Volleyball team who took Newberg Tigers last night to 5 sets and pulled out the upset! It was a true team effort to pull out the win! Thank you to our fans who showed up in numbers to represent our school and cheer on our team! Way to go Oly’s!! Were on to the next round and we will be traveling up to Sherwood for a 7 o’clock game on Saturday October 30th at the old Sherwood High School which is now the middle school. You can purchase a ticket on Hometown Tickets or the OSAA website $5 for students $8 for adults. We hope to see you there! 

Eleven Sprague music students have been selected as OMEA All-State Musicians!  All-State Symphonic Band members are Reese Bennett and Ian King.  Those selected as members of the All-State Wind Ensemble include: Fatehjot(FA-tay) Gogia (GO-jia), Caden Randolph, Evan Randolph, Ronith Sethi, Darius Yehnert, and Sadie Zager.  Amy Charnholm, Avery Rowzee, and Chloe Russ have been named to the All-State Symphony Orchestra.  Congratulations to these students on this hard-earned accomplishment. 10/28

If you are interested in trying out for the Sprague Boys Basketball Team, there will be a short meeting after school on Monday, November 1st. The meeting will take place in Coach Graneto's room, number 146. We will go over: paperwork needed to complete to tryout, upcoming dates, and times for the tryouts. Please make it a priority to attend the meeting if you intend to try out for the team. 11/1

The Sprague Boys Basketball Program is looking for at least 2 additional student team managers for the upcoming basketball season. If you are looking for community service hours, are reliable, and willing to be at all the Sprague Basketball Games this position may be for you. If you are interested in these student manager positions, please see Coach Graneto in Room 146 to apply and receive more information. 11/1

We travel to West Salem High School for a big rival varsity football game on Friday. Kick off is at 7pm. Face coverings are required. Let’s represent! Go Olys! 10/29

Students and staff are encouraged to wear a costume this Friday, October 29th. Costumes must be school appropriate, and should not have masks or hoods that cover the face. We look forward to seeing all the fun costumes!

Saturday, we host Lakeridge High School for a first round playoff girls soccer match at Sprague High School. Make sure to go on the OSAA website or Hometown ticketing to purchase your ticket.  $5 for students and $8 for adults.  The match begins at 2pm on Saturday in our stadium. Attention students, sometime this week we will be running a tardy sweep.  If you are caught being tardy during this time it will result in a lunch detention.  So make sure you are extra diligent in getting to class! 10/27

The blood drive is today in the main gym! Walk-ins are welcome, so if you haven't signed up yet just come down to the gym. 16 year olds require a signed permission form. Please eat some food and drink some fluids before you come. Thank you to all who have volunteered to donate and assist with the running of the drive. You are helping to save lives today! 10/27

Good luck to our boys and girls cross country team as they head today for the Mountain Valley Conference Meet. The top 3 teams in the district and top 7 individuals in the race will qualify for the state meet.10/27

Congratulations to our girls soccer team for having strong performances against McKay and South Salem this past week.  These two victories set us up for hosting the first round of the OSAA soccer playoffs most likely at Sprague on Saturday, October 30th. We’ll send out information soon.  Congratulations to the following senior players for their contributions to our program: Kamryn Powers, McKenzie Wernicke, Caylin Gadberry, Madalyn Neufeld, Djuna Plechl, Nicky Williams, Charlie Donofrio, Eden Sipes, Leriah Herrera Cruz, Cassia Hathaway, and Holley Cass.

Good luck to our boys and girls cross country team as they head to Bend on Wednesday for the Mountain Valley Conference Meet. Congratulations to the following seniors for their performances at Bush Park senior race and fantastic careers as they wrapped up the regular season: Jon Allen, Milano Cedillo Rodriguez, Caitlin Swanson, Bailey Kalar, Ben Slater, and Brian Musack. Well done!

All three of our football teams won against South Salem this week starting off with our freshmen closing out the Saxons with some defensive stops winning 18-13.  The JV football team dominated the Saxons at South bringing home the victory with a 39-13 win. The Varsity team picked up from there on Saturday in front of a large crowd with the game never being in question as the Olys built an insurmountable lead going into halftime with both the running game and passing. The Olys closed out South with a score of 55-7.  We have one of our strongest tests coming up this week against the Titans at West Salem on Friday night.  Let’s get a huge crowd there that is loud and proud!  Thank you to the following seniors for their part in a successful year: Jordan Jeffries, Blaise Pearson, Kimon Oum, Cole Elmore, Logan Smith, Drew Hunt, Colton Herring, Joshua Bare, Nico Fox, Bryton Lenahan, Quincy Palomo, Mathew Taylor, Dallon Morgan, David Sherman, Cody Schnack, Madison Kennedy, Tobin Riddle, Kayleb Saddler, Joseph Litke, Alex Porras, and Blake Stubblefield.  See you for the Friday night game @ West Salem @ 7pm.

The blood drive is back and is scheduled for next Wednesday, the 27th from 10:30 – 2:30 PM. Information and the link to sign up is on Sprague’s website and students will be coming around to classes today to promote the event. Questions? See Amy West in room 18.

Please come support our Unified Soccer team this Saturday from 3 to 7, at South Salem High School, as they take on other schools from the district in the hopes of winning the Saxon Cup.

Congratulations to the Sprague Olympian Marching Band on a successful competition at the Sunset Classic band contest on Saturday.  The band was awarded first place in their class and fourth place overall in the preliminary competition, as well as class caption awards for Best Music and Best Visual, and advanced to the finals competition.  In the finals, the band improved their standing, earning the award for 3rd place overall.  The band will compete in the season-finale Class Championships on Saturday, October 30th at Tigard High School.

Congratulations to the Sprague Olympian Marching Band on a successful competition at the Sunset Classic band contest on Saturday.  The band was awarded first place in their class and fourth place overall in the preliminary competition, as well as class caption awards for Best Music and Best Visual, and advanced to the finals competition.  In the finals, the band improved their standing, earning the award for 3rd place overall.  The band will compete in the season-finale Class Championships on Saturday, October 30th at Tigard High School.

Due to Bend High School Varsity and JV football teams moving into a COVID-19 protocol for exposure, this week's Friday home football game at 7:15pm has been cancelled.  All homecoming activities for this game will be moved to our Varsity game against Churchill on October 15th at 7:00pm.  Additionally, this Thursday's JV football game in Bend has been cancelled as well.  WE do have the Freshman football game tonight at 5pm! Come support our freshmen team!

At Sprague High School, we will encourage all students to stand during patriotic displays. We also expect to see respect between students. Students who harass or intimidate other students based on their choice to participate or not participate in patriotic ceremonies may be removed from the activity and referred to restorative mediation. To sum up: participation is optional, but respect is required. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Students: Set yourself up for Success!  Bring your Chromebook fully charged and ready to go each and every day.  Pack your charger just in case your Chromebook loses steam before the end of the day.  If you do not have a school issued Chromebook, please check one out from the library.  10/1
