This month is Hispanic Heritage month.   It began on September 15th, which was the historic day when the church bells rang in Dolores, Mexico announcing that Mexico was going to fight for independence from the Spanish.   Many Sprague students have their family roots in Latin America.   Hispanic Americans have made many contributions to art, literature, and music, economics and laws.   Sixty two Hispanic Americans have also received the Medal of Honor.  This month we celebrate this heritage and in the words of Mexican Artist Frida Kahlo, “Viva la Vida!”
