On Monday, December 2nd, Sprague will be kicking off it’s basketball season with it’s first Fan Fest! Join us in the gym at 2:30 to prepare for the basketball season. Pizza will be provided for the first 150 to show up, and we’ll have more t-shirt giveaways. We’ll spend some time learning yells and cheers, and will have areas for sign creation, t-shirt tie-dye and design. Then we’ll watch as our girls play at 5:00 and boys play at 6:00. 12/2

This is a competition, and the class that earns the highest points will win a donut/hot chocolate party! Scoresheets are posted near the donation boxes. Perishable items may be donated today! 11/21

Good morning Olympians. Today, November 20th, Political Action Club wishes you to observe Transgender Day of Rememberance to honor those who have died at the hands of hate crime. Be you a member of the LGBT+ community or an ally, please make sure you are there for your team peers and remember these lives were not taken in vain. Speak up if you hear about threats or harassment and see if you can make our school's environment as safe and welcoming for everyone as we can. 11/20

Staff from CTEC will be coming to Sprague today to discuss attending CTEC during the 2020-2021 school year. They will be meeting with all current sophomores and interested juniors at 11:30am during period 3 today. This presentation is reserved for sophomores and only juniors who are interested in attending CTEC. Students should report to their 3rd period class and listen for the announcement to be made to be released to go to the Pantheon. After Thanksgiving break, sophomores and interested juniors will have the opportunity to visit the CTEC campus on a field trip on Monday, December 2nd from 11:45am until the end of the school day.  11/19

The Sprague Olyannes dance team placed first in Novelty and first in the Modern categories against strong competitors at the Scappoose dance team competition on Saturday, November 16.  In addition, 3 dancers placed in the top ten of the individual drill down competition:  Freshmen Kayla Pobuda in the novice division and seniors Mackenzie Cooper and Hannah Lee in the advanced division. Congratulations to the Olyannes and Good luck to the team at the Fall Championships on December 7!

If you did not have a chance to sign-up to donate, you can find a sign-up sheet in the attendance office. 16 year olds have to turn in a permission slip signed by their parents by today or they will not be put on the schedule to donate. Football Awards ceremony will be held tonight at 6:30 in the commons.  This is for all JV and Varsity football players.

The Sprague Olyannes dance team attended their second competition of the fall season at Wilsonville High school on November 9. The team placed first in the novelty division and second in the modern category. Their high scores qualified both routines for the fall championships in December.  In addition, 6 dancers placed in the top ten of the individual drill down competitions: Freshmen Madeline Aballay, Esther Thao and Kayla Pobuda in the novice category and Sophomore Ayeisha (I-ee-sha) Chang, Juniors Sonya Frontino and Amanda Lutz (Loots) in the advanced division . Congratulations to all of the Olyannes!

Attention: Swimmers, wrestlers and Basketball players: Winter sport season will be here soon, the first official day of tryouts and practice is November 18th. On-line registration is now open, please go to the Sprague website to register on FamilyID. The registration window will close next Thursday. You must be registered and have a sport physical on file to participate. 11/8

AVID is hosting a pancake fundraiser on Saturday, November 9 from 8 to 10 in the morning at the Applebees Restaurant located on South Commercial Street.  Cost of tickets are $10.00 per person and includes a full breakfast and drinks.  Find any AVID student or AVID elective teacher to purchase tickets.  Come out and support Sprague AVID and enjoy a great breakfast too!  11/8

November is Oregon Goes To College Month. In addition to College Application Week being hosted at 125+ high schools around the state, November also marks the opening of the OSAC scholarship application, and it's a great month for the class of 2020 to submit their Oregon Promise applications.  11/8

The Asian alliance club will be having a meeting today at lunch in Mr. Allen’s room #145! There will be a variety of Asian foods to explore, so come join us to try out some traditional plates of different cultures while learning about various holidays with Thanksgiving coming up! See you there!

Attention: Swimmers, wrestlers and Basketball players: Winter sport season will be here soon, the first official day of tryouts and practice is November 18th. On-line registration is now open, please go to the Sprague website to register on FamilyID. The registration window will close next Thursday. You must be registered and have a sport physical on file to participate. 11/8

AVID is hosting a pancake fundraiser on Saturday, November 9 from 8 to 10 in the morning at the Applebees Restaurant located on South Commercial Street.  Cost of tickets are $10.00 per person and includes a full breakfast and drinks.  Find any AVID student or AVID elective teacher to purchase tickets.  Come out and support Sprague AVID and enjoy a great breakfast too!  11/8

November is Oregon Goes To College Month. In addition to College Application Week being hosted at 125+ high schools around the state, November also marks the opening of the OSAC scholarship application, and it's a great month for the class of 2020 to submit their Oregon Promise applications.  11/8

The fall blood drive is Thursday, November 21st. If you did not have a chance to sign-up to donate, you can find a sign-up sheet in the attendance office. 16 year olds have to turn in a permission slip signed by their parents by Friday, November 15th or they will not be put on the schedule to donate. Questions? See Amy West in room 18. 11/8

Today we will be having a boys basketball meeting to discuss tryouts. Please attend at lunch in room 146, if you are planning on trying out for the basketball team this year. 11/6

Our Sprague marching band & Color Guard had a great day of competition in Eugene this past weekend.  The Sprague Olympian Marching Band & Color Guard ended their competitive season, finishing 2nd place in Class AA and 8th place overall at NWAPA Championships, and their score of 79.85 earned in finals was our highest score of the season! Congratulations band and color guard!

AP STUDENTS: Today is the last day to sign up for AP Test. The cost is $75 per exam. If you are a Free and Reduced Lunch recipient, please stop by the main office. Students should also check with their coaches and/or music teachers to see if they will be involved in any activities that will create a conflict during an exam they intend to take. They need to bring Mr. Harris a note from the coach or teacher stating that they will need to take a late test. Students you must first join your AP Classroom before any payment will be accepted. Don't miss the opportunity to take your AP exam. Registration closes – today!! no exceptions! 11/4

The Sprague Olyannes dance team attended their first competition of the fall season at Gladstone High school on Saturday, November 2. The team placed first in the novelty category and third in the contemporary division. Their high scores qualified their novelty routine for the fall championships in December.  In addition, 5 dancers placed in the top ten of the individual drill down competitions: Freshmen Esther Thao and Kayla Pobuda in the novice category and Sophomore Ayeisha (I-ee-sha) Chang, Juniors Sonya Frontino and Amanda Lutz (Loots) in the advanced division . Congratulations to all of the Olyannes!
Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country running teams who competed on Saturday in their conference meet at Bush Park. In the girls race, Sprague was led by Sara Abbott, Abby Fryxell and Caitlin Swanson. Sara ran to a 4th place finish, earning all-conference honors and a trip to next week's state meet in Eugene.  In the boys race, Milano Rodriguez, Tucker Piper and Josh Dixon led the Olys team. Milano ran to a 15th place finish, earning all-conference honorable mention.  Special thanks to those students, parents and staff who came out to support the teams and cheer everyone on during the races! And good luck to Sara Abbott next week!
