Congratulations to the
Sprague Speech and Debate Team for their outstanding work at the Jerry Hudson
Invitational held at Willamette University. A dozen Olympians competed against
speakers from 15 schools from around the state and the following students won
individual awards. Jade Hua placed 10th in JV Parliamentary Debate
Speaker Points. Kyra Mason placed 9th in JV Parliamentary Debate
Speaker Points. Jade Hua placed 5th in Junior Varsity Impromptu
Speaking. Kaylee Tolentino placed 4th in Junior Varsity Radio
Commentary. Alex Steele placed 3rd in Varsity Oratory Speaking. And
Dorian Azar placed 1st in Memorized Interpretation. Great start to
the competition year Oly Speechies!
AP STUDENTS: AP Registration is now open from October 1st through
to Monday November 4th. The cost is $75 per exam. If you are a
Free and Reduced Lunch recipient, please stop by the main office. Students should also check with their coaches and/or music
teachers to see if they will be involved in any activities that will create a
conflict during an exam they intend to take. They need to bring Mr. Harris a
note from the coach or teacher stating that they will need to take a late test.
Students you must first join your AP Classroom before any payment will be
accepted. Don't miss the opportunity to take your AP exam. Registration closes
– November 4th, no exceptions. 11/4
HOSA will be having an
all chapter meeting today at lunch in room 17. Come learn about how you
can be a part of this great organization and learn about various healthcare
professions.

learn how to identify birds by call, build a bird feeder, and impress all of
your friends with your bird knowledge? Come to Bird Club in room 148, Tuesday
October 22nd, after school. 10/22
Political Action Club meets every Friday in room 148 after
school. Come talk about politics at all scales and how we can make a positive
change. All are welcome and we can’t wait to see you there! 10/25
Good
morning! The Gay/Straight Alliance Club will be held this Wednesday, Oct.
23rd at lunch. The meeting place from
years past has changed to room 147-that’s Ms. Hogfeldt’s (pronounced
“HOEgfelt”) room, in the science hall. It will be from 10:35-11:05, so
bring your lunch, ideas for future topics to discuss, and most importantly,
your friends! Please also come to the meeting with an idea of whether you
would like to run as the GSA president, vice president, secretary or treasurer.
Let’s make this meeting and club the most welcoming and informative club on
campus! See you Wednesday, the 23rd! We will be meeting every 3rd
Wednesday of the month. 10/23
