October 11th is PSAT day at Sprague High School.  If you are wanting to sign up for the PSAT test to qualify for National Merit Scholarship, see the bookkeeper and pay your $16.00 dollars today.  The cost will increase to $20 dollars if you wait until after today to register.  As a reminder, all Sophomores are given this assessment free of charge.  This year all Freshman will also be given the 8/9 PSAT test and will not need to pay for this assessment either. If you have questions please contact Assistant Principal Jesse Clayton. 10/4

Good Morning Olympians!  The GSA (Gay/Straight Alliance) Club is up and running! We will have our first meeting today from 2:30 to 3:15 in room 119 (that's the American Sign Language classroom).  Please join students who support the LGBTQ community and take advantage of an opportunity to run for a GSA Club officer position. We can't wait to meet you! 10/4

Good morning Olys! Come by the Oly Lounge before school and during lunch to pick up some awesome Oly Gear – such as our brand new beanies! This years’ beanies are soft and fluffy to keep you warm at football games and show off your school spirit! Also, come try our October Drink of the Month: The pumpkin white hot chocolate! 10/6

Sprague is looking at adding a Sprague HOSA chapter. There will be a meeting today at lunch in Mr. Mahi’s room (room 17) to determine interest, share some information and to answer questions. Come learn about this potentially new opportunity. 10/4

Attention College Bound Students:  Beginning Sunday, October 1st,  the 2018-19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid will open for any student planning to attend a community college, 4-year university, or trade school. 10/5

Olys, Sprague has a bowling club! Come roll with us. Strike your way to the Attendance Office to pick up our flyer for contact information to join our team! 10/5

Homecoming tickets are on sale at lunch on the stage in the commons and in the office. Tickets are $5 with an ASB sticker, $8 without. The dance will be on Saturday from 8:30 – 11pm. 10/6
  
Dear Olys: Every year for the past 22 years, Sprague High School has hosted Oly Pageant – A yearlong fundraiser where 12 selected seniors and 2 coordinators raise money for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. This year’s team consists of students Audra Sproed, Britton Hemmert, Caleb Lounsbury, Chauncey Koulibali, Connor Davidson, Cuylie Johnson, Damon Zavala, Daniel King, Kaytee Eller, Lucas Schnell, Maggie Robinson and Paige Clarke as well as our two senior coordinators Natalia Perez and Deepak Ilango. Oly Pageant will be having an array of fundraisers throughout the school year, so be sure to look out for ways you can contribute to this great cause! On April 14th, these students will be showcasing their various talents at the Elsinore Theatre, we hope we can count on your support for the children of Doernbecher! 10/6

During the month of October, the ASPIRE Center is sponsoring a series of college/career activities for Sprague students and their families.  
Monday, October 23rd:  Oregon State University will have an Application Workshop for prospective students during 4th period in the ASPIRE Center.  To sign up, please visit the ASPIRE Center.  The deadline for signing up is October 13th.
On Friday, October 27th – the monthly Coffee Talk in the ASPIRE Center will be held starting at 7:00 a.m.  This month’s forum is open to 9th, 10th, and 11th grade parents. 
On Monday, October 30th,  there will be a college fair at Chemeketa Community College starting at 6 p.m.   Transportation will be provided to any Sprague student wanting to attending this event.  Please sign up with Ms. Dunn in the ASPIRE Center before Thursday October 26th. 10/26

Students, Sprague will be completing a Tardy Sweep on Thursday October 4th.  Due to the amount of tardy activity in the building we are encouraging all students to get to class on time.  Students be aware that classroom doors will be locked at the beginning of classes. 10/4

The Sprague Manga Club will be meeting at Lunch in the LIBRARY on Thursday, Oct. 5.  Please join us as we will vote on a new club name and plan activities for the year.  Please note the time change: we are meeting at lunch! 10/4

Spanish Club is hosting chips and salsa tasting tomorrow at lunch in room 124. Everyone is welcome to stop by and sample different salsas- especially Mr. Rasca’s surprise salsa! You are also encouraged to bring in your favorite salsa to share. 10/4

Homecoming King and Queen voting is now LIVE on the Sprague Website – visit the website to weigh in on who you want to be Homecoming King and Queen. You only get one vote, so make it count! Voting ends at 3pm on Thursday, October 5th. 10/5

Olys Fans--You only have 2 more times to watch your Undefeated Freshman Football team at Olympic Stadium.  We will be taking on Forest Grove at 6pm on Monday 10/9.  Please come and cheer on your Olys.

Today is the opening of Curious Savage put on by Sprague Theatre.  Come and see a great show tonight.  The house opens at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:00.  We hope to see you there.  The dates for the play are 10/4, 10/5 10/7 and also next week 10/11, 10/12 and 10/13.
