The Freshmen Football team rolled to an impressive total team victory last night in Olympic Stadium over Forest Grove.  Led by Trey Martin and Johnny Warner, the Offense got off to a fast start by throwing touchdown passes to Carson Van Kempen, Tyler Wall and Tyeson Thomas.  Jackson Noud and Adam Ferguson led the rushing attack for Touchdowns.  Seth Shortis took over kicking duties and knocked down 3 extra points.  Bryson Kievit, Jacob Bos, Steven Osman, Mason George and Brett Hassoun led a fearsome line attack that pressured the FG Qb as Jack Muth returned an interception for a touchdown and Gabe Terrones and Jackson Noud also recorded INT's. The total team defense led the Olys to a 51-0 shutout.  Next up, the undefeated Olys take on North's JV2 team at North Salem at 6pm on Monday 10/16.  The final home game will be on 10/23 vs. West Albany.  Please come cheer on this Olys team as they wrap up a great season.

ATTENTION STUDENTS:
This Thursday will be Columbus Day.  It is required  Oregon State Law to teach about this day.

Christopher Columbus, an Italian explorer, sailed to find a route to the Spice Islands and Far East.  Land was sighted on October 12, 1492.  His voyage was a world changing event.

The post Columbian world brought death from European diseases, while others were enslaved or mistreated by colonial powers.

Plants and technology were exchanged between the old world and the new.  Potatoes, Tomatoes, and Chocolate are from the new world.

Those who are of Italian heritage celebrate this day to honor Columbus’ courage and the dawn of the great age of exploration.
