On Wednesday, September 27th an information session on Financial Aid will be held for parents and students in the Library starting at 6 pm, and on Friday, September 29th the ASPIRE center will host a drop in session for parents to discuss FAFSA and Financial Aid tips.   You can register for these events by going to the College and Career Planning link on the Sprague Counseling webpage.  You can also sign up for upcoming college visits on this page. 9/27

Attention all freshman! Freshman class elections are coming up very soon. If you are interested in running for student government and being a part of our leadership program, get an application to run in the office or from Mr. Schueller in room 142. This is a good opportunity to get involved and have fun! 9/20

Guest forms for Homecoming dance can be picked up in the main office. The form must be completed and returned by October 2nd

October 11th is PSAT day at Sprague High School.  If you are wanting to sign up for the PSAT test to qualify for National Merit Scholarship, see the bookkeeper and pay your $16.00 dollars before October 4th.  The cost will increase to $20 dollars if you wait until after October 4th to register.  As a reminder, all Sophomores are given this assessment free of charge.  This year all Freshman will also be given the 8/9 PSAT test and will not need to pay for this assessment either. Attention Seniors:  Are you looking for scholarships to apply for and seeking a website ?  You can always visit Oregon CIS or Oregon Gear Up website for scholarship information.   For example, Coca-Cola Scholars Application is open to any current high school senior.  Interested?  Check out Coca-Cola Scholars.

Students who have release periods please go to the Main Office and sign up to receive a release card.

Do you need a homecoming dress? Chain Reaction can help! During the week of September 25th through the 29th, Chain Reaction will be holding a homecoming dress giveaway during lunch in the girls locker room.  They will also be doing the giveaway after school on the 28th and 29th from 2:30-3:30.

The Freshman Football Team went on the road again on Monday night and routed the McNary Celtics in a score of 47-7.In a total team victory in which everyone contributed; the Olys were dominant on both sides of the ball.  Special Recognition is given to Trey Martin who led the Olys to 40 points in 3 quarters behind the strong blocking of Josh Bell, Hayden Nofziger, Jacob Bos, Albert Phillips, Bryson Kievit, Sylvio Moore and Brett Hassoun, and the strong running and catching of Jack Muth, Carson Van Kempen, Tyeson Thomas, Ethan Bullock and Adam Ferguson.  The Defense did an excellent job in a team effort of shutting down the speedy running backs of McNary and scored a Defensive Touchdown on a Pick Six by Jacob Robbins. The Olys play in front of the home crowd for the first time while school is in session next Monday night at 6pm.  Please come and cheer on your 3-0 Freshman Football Team!

There will be a GIRLS BASKETBALL meeting on Thursday at lunch in Mr. Williams’ room, room 20. We will discuss the open gym schedule as well as information on the upcoming season. See you there, GO OLYS!! 9/21

Please come to Rm 166 to glaze and/or pick up your pottery pieces from last year. Pieces that needed re-firing last year, have been re-fired and are ready to go home!  So, please come get your amazing pieces in the next two weeks. Thank you, Ms. Lowery! 9/29

Bonjour Sprague! This Friday the 22nd, the French club will be hosting a blind cheese tasting! You could have the possibility of tasting various cheeses from camembert to chevre so be there! It will be held in room 123 and we are bound to have fun. We hope to see you there!

Both boys and girls water polo teams defeated Willamette on Tuesday with the boys winning 20-9 while the girls won in Overtime 5-3.Michael Boman led the Olys with 5 goals for the boys and his sister Andrea led the girls with 2 goals with Kelsey Olson also scoring two goals. Great job Olys!
