Today is Pearl Harbor Day.  On December 7, 1941, the United States was attacked at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, by a Japanese military force.  2,335 Sailors were killed.  The battleship Arizona received a direct hit, and remains in Pearl Harbor today, underneath the water as a war memorial.  After this event, the United States entered the war against Germany and Japan, leading to the deaths of over 450,000 Americans.  The death toll for Pearl Harbor was exceeded on September 11, 2001, when 2996 people died in those attacks.
