Winter Guard tryouts are today, December 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Commons and Wednesday, December 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Upper Gym.  For more information, see Dr. Greenwood in the band room.  12/5

There will be an environmental club meeting today, at lunch in Mr. Dey's room.  We will be discussing a variety of opportunities for community involvement, so do not miss it! 12/3

Hello Sprague Birders! The Bird Club will be meeting after school in Mr Dey's room on Wednesday to build bird feeders for our feathered friends so see you then!

This Thursday, celebrate the holidays with cookies and kindness in the AVID room in the Commons! Chain Reaction will have cookies that you can decorate!

This week is National Computer Science Week.  Sprague High School is taking part in Hour of Code.  Each day this week we will be highlighting some information in the announcements.  Take some time to read the posters in the hall.  Did you know that 58% of all new jobs in STEM are in computing?  But only 8% of STEM graduates are in Computer Science.  If you want to be in a high demand field – consider computer science.  Keep on Coding Sprague.

There will be a Youth and Government meeting on Tuesday, 12/4, in Mr Nickel’s room at lunch. If you are at all interested – please come! We will be reviewing the registration process and beginning to brainstorm for our bills. Hope to see you there!

Attention Sophomores who are attending today’s CTEC field trip, during lunch today, please report to the stage to pick up your CTEC showcase slip. You will need this slip on the fieldtrip, so be sure to put it somewhere secure! We will be leaving Sprague at 11:15am. When you hear the announcement releasing you from your 5^th period class, report to the regular bus loading area on the North end of the building. Be sure to bring your showcase slip with you. We will return to Sprague at 2:00pm.

Congratulations to Sprague’s Spech and Debate Team on their outstanding work last Saturday at the Holiday Edge Invitational. 20 Olympians competed against students from across Oregon and Southwest Washington in 16 different speaking and debate events. The following students earned individual awards. Helayna James placed 2^nd in Novice Division Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Eden McCall and Arianna Martin placed 5^th in Varsity Division Parliamentary Debate. Aiben Hirschfelder placed 6^th in Novice Division After Dinner Speaking. Francesca Thompson placed 4^th in Open Division Program Oral Interpretation and is also the tournament champion in Poetry Interpretation. Francesca and Megan Baus also took top honors in Varsity Division Duo Interpretation. Awesome job Oly Speechies!
