Attention Seniors: If you are planning to attend
Chemeketa in the Fall 2018, you will need to complete a placement test.
On Feb. 23rd, there will be a field trip for those students needing
to complete the placement testing requirement. Please sign up in the
ASPIRE Center. You will need your K Number, Date of Birth, and Student

Freshman & Sophmores: Salem Police Dept is looking for an Oregon
Representative to the Youth Advocacy Board.
If you graduated from a DARE program, have a history of demonstrated
academic achievement, community involvement and are comfortable with public
speaking then you should apply.

We are excited about an upcoming event to showcase a
partnership between Starbucks and Salem-Keizer CTE programs. Students
across the district have submitted videos for Starbucks to use
internally. The top two videos from each school will be previewed, scored
and winners announced at the showcase night. The event will be on January
25th, at North Salem High School at 6:00 pm. Please come support
Sprague, and enjoy watching and supporting the top videos from all of the
Salem-Keizer CTE programs. 1/25
Congratulations
to Sprague’s Speech and debate team on their outstanding work this last weekend
at Lewis and Clark College’s Jean Ward Invitational. 19 Olympians competed
against students from 39 schools from 4 states, taking 5th place
overall. The following Olympians won individual awards. Shinoa Greenfield and
Claire Warncke were octa-finalists in Parliamentary Debate. Santiago Monleon
was a quarter-finalist in Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Lindsey Williams was a
semi-finalist and also took home top speaker honors in Lincoln Douglas Debate.
Speech Semi-finalists include Shinoa Greenfield in Radio Commentary. Emma
Michaux in Prose Interpretation, Lucas Schnell in Impromptu Speaking,
and Caitlyn Meek in Expository Speaking. Megan Baus placed fifth in Dramatic
Interpretation. Francesca Thompson placed 5th in Poetry
Interpretation. Alyssa Azar placed 3rd in Novice Division Poetry
Interpretation. Chauncey Koulibali placed 2nd in both Program Oral
Interpretation as well as Poetry Interpretation./ And Francesca Thompson placed
1st overall in Prose Interpretation. Awesome job Oly Speechies!
Students, starting on Monday, January 29th,
students whose vehicles are parked in staff parking spaces will be called out
of class and be required to move their vehicle to the lower parking lot.
Additionally, these students will receive a parking ticket and will lose their
parking permit. Please make sure that you are parking in an appropriate student
parking space to avoid losing your parking privileges. 1/25
