Sprague Cheerleading Tryouts are coming October 24th! Openings on Varsity Squad and NEW JV Squad! No experience needed! Stop by the Athletics Dept. to pick up the required paperwork today! 10/24

The Sprague blood drive is coming up on Halloween in just a couple of weeks and we need your help to save lives! Donating just a pint of blood will save 3 people’s lives. Plus, as a donor you get some great snacks and all donors will receive a free red cross T-shirt while supplies and sizes last! Anyone 16 and older can sign up to donate but all 16 year olds need to return a parental consent form before they will be scheduled. If you have not signed up yet or if you are a 16 year old and need a permission form, you can find this information in the office or in room 18. 10/24

Are you planning on applying to Oregon State University, the University of Oregon, Western Oregon, or Portland State University?  Each college will be conducting an Application Workshop at Sprague – Please sign up the Events section of the Sprague Counseling website by Monday, October 22nd. 10/22

On Monday, October 29th, a bus will be available for any Sprague student to attend the Salem Area College Fair at Chemeketa Community College.  The event starts at 6 p.m.  The Bus will leave Sprague at 5:30 p.m. and return at 8 p.m.  Sign up online on the Sprague Counseling website or speak with Ms. Dunn.  Signed Permission Slips are due Thursday October 25th.  10/24

Do you want to learn more about how your government works? Do you have an idea that you think should become law? Want to spend a day in the capitol getting selfies with the governor? Then Sprague Youth and Government is for you! We will have our first meeting of the year during lunch on Thursday, October 25th in Mr. Nickel’s room, room #. This will be an introductory meeting for new members and the officers will be able to answer any questions you have! Hope to see you there!  10/25

Congratulations to Sprague’s Speech and Debate team for their outstanding work this last weekend at the Jerry Hudson Invitational held at Willamette University. Over 300 students from 30 schools from across the West Coast competed in 15 speaking and debating events. The following Olympians won individual awards. Sarah Callahan placed 4th in JV Division Humorous Interpretation. Helena Janes tied for 5th in Novice Division Lincoln-Douglas debate and was the 5th best speaker in the division. Sarah Shewaye (pronounced Sh-why-ee) placed 3rd in Novice Division Lincoln-Douglas debate and was the top speaker in the division. Megan Baus placed 3rd in Varsity Division Prose Interpretation. Francesca Thompson placed 1st in Poetry Interpretation. And Lindsey Williams placed 1st in Senior Division Impromptu Speaking, Senior Division Lincoln-Douglas Debate, and was the division’s top speaker. Way to go Oly Speechies!
