OPU Day is coming to Sprague High School. All 8 Oregon Public Colleges and Universities will be visiting us on Monday, April 4th.  For more information, please see Ms. Dunn in Room 160. 4/4

Team Sprague Track and Field participated in Varsity 5 way Dual at North Salem yesterday.  There were some outstanding performances.  These included: Megan Sims had a great meet in the throws---Personal Records in both the Shot and the Discus. Nick Brotton and the 4x100 team of S.J. Oum, Andrew Weaver and Andrew Christensen ran a PR time. Lexie Harman PR'ed in the Javelin. Ginger Murnieks ran a 2:20 in the 800 and is first in the District in both the 800 and 1500 at this time. Elise Abbott and Ellie Stuart are both freshman Distance Runners that had great meets. Dylan Smith won the Shot Put and all 3 of our throwers in the Shot PR'ed, including Kyle Rosenau and Sean Nettleton.Natalia Cedillo-Rodriguez ran well in the 300m Hurdles. Overall it was a great first meet for our team as we swept South Salem in both the Boys and Girls.

The varsity and JV girls tennis players are dismissed from class today at 1:40, with the bus leaving sharply at 2:00, for a match at Forest Grove HS.

Team Sprague Track and Field will be in a Varsity Dual today at North Salem High School.  All Varsity Athletes will be released from 8th period at 1:30 and the bus will leave promptly at 1:45.  Come cheer on Team Sprague as we take on 4 other Varsity Teams in the GVC. Also a reminder to all Varsity Pole Vaulters that they must weigh-in at P-33 promptly at the beginning of Lunch. 3/30

Today there will be an open gym from 2:30 until 4:00 in the Auxiliary gym for all of those interested in soccer. There will be no coaching, just futsal games. Anyone interested is invited, regardless if you have played before or not.

Congratulations to Sprague's Speech and Debaters who competed two weekends ago at Clackamas Community College at the NSDA National Tournament qualifier. Brandon Roth qualified for Nationals in Lincoln-Douglas debate for the third year in a row. Brandon is only the fourth
Olympian to be a three-time qualifier to the NSDA National Tournament. Brandon was also named the North Oregon District's Student of the Year. The district recognized Brandon's superior performance over his four years as an Olympian debater. Great job Brandon and good luck Oly Speechies this weekend at OSAA districts.

The Sprague Olyannes dance team qualified for finals of the 2016 OSAA State Dance and Drill Championships on March 19 at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland. The Olyannes placed 12th out of 25 teams in the 6A division, only 7.95 points out of first place in a tight competition. Sprague was the only dance team out of the four competitors from the Greater Valley Conference to reach the finals. Congratulations to the Olyannes on a strong finish to an outstanding season!

Chain Reaction is an outreach club that promotes the simple kindness that impacts people in a positive way. We are looking for students to come along side us and reignite this awesome club. Congratulations to Ellie Warner who took 2nd place in Soprano Solo Performance at the District Solo/Ensemble Festival this last Saturday!  She has qualified for a spot at the State Solo Contest in April! Way to go Ellie!

Tickets and neon shirts will be on sale at lunch today.  And don’t forget to come put on a show under the glow this Friday at 9.

Attention Juniors and Sophomores!  Information is coming your way about the CTEC program! If you are on target to graduate, have good attendance and don’t get into trouble, please plan to attend an assembly for all interested students today during 6th period in the pantheon to learn more about what CTEC will be offering next year and the process of applying.  Currently we have classes in manufacturing (welding) and construction and will again next year.  In addition, the cosmetology program will shift to CTEC and we will be adding one or two more programs beyond that. All students who are still interested in going out for Track and Field need to get their paperwork in to the Athletic Office and come ready to practice at 2:45 in the stadium.  Come see Coach Charles in P-33 for more information if you need it. There is a mandatory parent meeting starting at 5:15 in the library on Wednesday 3/2 for all Track athletes and parents. 3/2

Congratulations to these Sprague Hoop players for being honored by the Greater Valley Conference Coaches as all conference members.  Teagan Quitoriano was a unanimous 1st team selection, Kaiden Flanigan was a 2nd team selection, Perry VanHouten and Cole Freeburg were both honorable mention selections.  3/1


Tomorrow Night your boys basketball team will travel to Central Catholic to open the 1st round of the OSAA State Playoffs.  Game time begins at 7pm.  Road Trip! 3/2
