Today the Sprague wrestlers are in 3rd place at the state wrestling tournament. 10 of Sprague’s wrestlers are still in with 5 in the quarter finals: Chris Cardenas, Yulerik Sorensen, Joe Lugo Jordan Giza and Brandon Griffin.
Tonight the semi finals begin at 7:00pm.

The Sprague Olyannes Dance Team will host a dance team competition for 20 teams from around Oregon at Sprague on Saturday, February 27th. Round times are at 12:00 and 5:00pm. Tickets are $6.00 for one round or $10.00 for both rounds. (2/26)

The first Equestrian Team meet starts today, February 26, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. at the Fairgrounds and run through Sunday, February 28th. Friday afternoon is our cattle classes, such as team penning, steer daubing and roping, with showmanship and In-Hand Obstacle Relay in the morning. Saturday morning will be the gaming classes with drill being Saturday night.
On Sunday, the jumping, dressage and English classes will be held with working pairs in the afternoon.

Dodge,Duck, Dip, Dive and… Dodge.
Sprague will host South in a battle royale of Dodgeball. All grades will be represented. The event is March 5th and will cost you $3.00 to attend. All proceeds go to Doernbecher Childrens Hospital. (2/26)

Oregon dealt with the tragic death of a teenage girl in Eugene last month, allegedly due to physical abuse. Sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect are realities for many youth and children in our school and our community. You are invited to a tour of a place designed to help when abuse concerns arise: please consider coming to see Liberty House today, February 24th at 3:30pm. Liberty House is our area’s child abuse assessment center, located in Northeast Salem.

The Sprague Olyannes dance team placed first in the 6A division at the Mollala dance team competition on Saturday, February 13. Their high scores this weekend resulted in qualification for both rounds at the OSAA state dance team championships at the Memorial Coliseum in March. Sprague dancers also won awards in the individual skills competition. Senior Brittany McBee won Gold in Dance, senior Emily Salter earned Gold in Turns, Silver in Dance, and Bronze in Leaps and senior Alli Menser received Gold in Leaps and Bronze in Dance. In the drill down competition, Brittany McBee was fifth in advanced, freshman Matti Menser was third in novice and freshman Kelsy Maggi placed second in novice. Congratulations to all of the Olyannes for the outstanding results from this weekend of competition!(2/16)

Congratulations to the Sprague wrestlers who finished 2nd in the CVC tournament this past weekend in Redmond. The Olys won dual meet title but were edged out by 4 points by the Celtics at the District Tournament. The #6 Olys qualified 12 wrestlers to state. Lead by District Champions Senior Yulerik Sorensen, Sophomore Brandon Griffin, and Senior Josh Gaskin. The Olys also had strong performances by junior Kyle Wuest who finished 4th, and sophomore Brennan Ridling who finished 3rd. The 12 wreslters qualifiying for the state meet are

The Sprague Olyannes varsity dance team placed first in the 6A division at the Stayton High School Dance Team Competition on Saturday, February 6th. The Olyannes successfully competed for the first time with the program they will be taking to the state championships in March. In addition, special recognition goes to freshman Kelsey Maggi for placing in the top ten in the novice drill down competition. Congratulations to all of the Olyannes!(2/9)

Hey National Honor Society members! It is time to get organized for the blood drive which is only a month away. We will be meeting during both lunches today, Feb 5. First lunch in McElliott's, Room 113 and second lunch in Mrs. Lorenz's room 146. Be prompt as we have a representative from the Red Cross to get us up to speed. There is a lot to cover. (2/5)

The 6th ranked Oly wrestlers finished their season 6 and 0 in League Duals last night, clinching the dual meet title by defeating McKay 57 to 15. The Olys were lead by senior Yulerik Sorensen, freshman Jake Juzkow, junior Jordan Giza, sophomore Brandon Griffin and senior Josh Gaskin who all pinned their opponents. The JV's also won last night 66 to 20 going undefeated in league as well!! Great job Olys and good luck next week at Districts.(2/5)

Congratulations to the Boys Bowling Team who took 1st place at the District Bowling Tournament. Team members are Tucker Harmon, Michael Johnson, Tyler Keagle, Corbin Morgan, Kenny Morris, Shawn Smith and Andrew Zwicker. District All Stars include Andrew Zwicker, Corbin Morgan and Tucker Harmon.
