There will be an important informational meeting after school in the wt. room on Tuesday 2/6 starting promptly at 2:30.  Even if you are in a winter sport and are planning on participating in track and field, you are expected to be there as the meeting will be brief.  See you there. 2/6

The boys basketball team ran their league record to 11-0 with an exciting 66-58 win Friday at home against South Salem.  Teagan Quitoriano led the way with 21 points and 12 rebounds.  Perry VanHouten went 5-6 from the three point line and scored 15 points. Jailen Hammer had 13 points 5 rebounds and 5 assists. And Kobe Withers had 13 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists.  The team will be at West Salem on Tuesday to take on the Titans.  Come on out and support your number 1 ranked Olys as they look to keep their unbeaten league record intact.  Game time is 6:45.

The Sprague Dance Team competed in their first competition of the winter season on Saturday, February 3 at Stayton High school.  The team had the second highest score in the 6A division and 9 dancers placed in the drill down competitions.  The winners in the novice division were freshmen Marisa Bradley, Sonya Frontino, Arella Rodriguez-Lenz, Natalie Venegas, Amanda Lutz, Emily Pierson and Allison Clements. In the advanced division, the winners were seniors Emily Newton and Morgan Thomas.  Congratulations to all of the Olyannes!

Congratulations to the Sprague Wrestling team who won their 6th straight conference title over the weekend. The Olympians had a school record 23 GVC placers. Winning individual titles were Bo Joklur, Josh Johnson, Daniel McClung, Landon Davis, & Santos Cantu. Making it to the finals & advancing to the state tournament were Michael Murphy, Luke Merzenich, & Jacob Luna. Overall, Sprague qualified 16 wrestlers for the state tournament & will compete for a state title in 2 weeks. Great job & good luck Sprague Winter Warriors! 2

Oly Tailgate and White-out Dance tickets are on sale at lunch in the commons! Dance tickets are $5, and the tailgate & dance combination ticket is $8. Only Sprague students with ID will be admitted, and dress code will be enforced. 2/2

The Oregon Student Aid and Completion Scholarship database is open.  The early bird deadline is Feb 15^th with all entries complete eligible for an additional $500 scholarship contest.  Students planning to attend a college, university, trade school, or community college in the Fall 2018 are able to apply for these scholarships.  In response of students’ needs, the ASPIRE Center will be open until 5 p.m. on Wednesdays during the month of February to assist any student attempting to work on these or any other scholarships. 2/2

There are two upcoming Chemeketa College Field Trips.  First, if you are interested in visiting Chemeketa Community College to understand what is offered, you can sign up for the College Tour on Thursday, Feb 15^th.   There are 20 spots available. Second, if you are interested in completing the Placement Testing requirement for Chemeketa Community College, that field trip is scheduled for the Placement test on Friday, Feb. 23^rd.   The Placement testing field trip is limited to 26 students.   Students will be able to sign up online or in the ASPIRE Center. 2/2

The boys basketball team ran their record to 16-2 with a non-league win against Sheldon last night.  After a sluggish first half the team exploded for 46 second half points to down the Irish 64-48.  Teagan Quitoriano led the way with 17 points and 9 rebounds.  Perry VanHouten hit 5-7 from the 3 point line and finished with 17 points.  And Jailen Hammer added 13 points, 4 assists and 2 steals.  The team returns to action here on Friday against South Salem.  See you at the game!

Office staff will call Parents/Guardians to check students out.  Students should not be using cell phones while in class.  Also a reminder when you receive a check out slip- come check out in Attendance- Please do not just leave campus.  You must always check in or out through the Attendance office. 1/30

Sprague students: as a reminder, starting today, any students whose vehicles are parked in staff parking spaces will be called out of class and be required to move their vehicle to the lower parking lot. Additionally, these students will receive a parking ticket and will lose their parking permit. Please make sure that you are parking in an appropriate student parking space to avoid losing your parking privileges. 1/30

Your #1 ranked boys varsity basketball team pulled off an impressive 56-47 win at #5 McNary on Friday night.  The team played a great defensive game and put together a 13-0 run in the 4^th quarter to put the Celts away.  Kobe Withers and Jailen Hammer scored two baskets each during that run to spark the team. Teagan Quitoriano led the way with 19 points and 17 rebounds. Jailen Hammer added 14 points, 8 rebounds.  The team would like to thank the large and loud student section that came out to support them.  The team returns to the court to take on Sheldon HS in a non-league contest Tuesday at 6:45.  See you there!

Sprague Freshman & Sophmores: Salem Police Dept is looking for an Oregon Representative to the Youth Advocacy Board.  If you graduated from a DARE program, have a history of demonstrated academic achievement, community involvement and are comfortable with public speaking then you should apply.  Application deadline is February 16, 2018.  For more information or to apply, email cseibel@cityofsalem.net.

We are excited about an upcoming event to showcase a partnership between Starbucks and Salem-Keizer CTE programs.  Students across the district have submitted videos for Starbucks to use internally.  The top two videos from each school will be previewed, scored and winners announced at the showcase night.  The event will be on January 25^th, at North Salem High School at 6:00 pm. Please come support Sprague, and enjoy watching and supporting the top videos from all of the Salem-Keizer CTE programs. 1/25
