The Boys Varsity Basketball team beat McKay last night with 93 - 76 win.  The Oly's were led by Sophomore Teagan Quitoriano with 26 points and 14 rebounds and sophomore Tyler Miller with 20 points and 8 rebounds.  Senior Cole Freeburg added 12 points and 6 rebounds, Sophomore Perry VanHouten added 11 points off the bench, while sophomore Taylor Blea added 8 assists.  The Oly's had twelve players that scored in the contest and had 26 assists as a team.  The JV and Freshmen teams both won, to bring out a sweep for the night.  Next up for the Olympians will be Timpview High School out of Utah Monday December 21st at the 1st Annual Capitol City Classic tournament held at Willamette University.  12/16

Congratulations to Sprague's Speech and Debate team on their outstanding work last Saturday at Clackamas High School's Holiday Edge Tournament. Over 800 students from 43 schools in Oregon and Washington attended. The squad placed 10th overall, and the following students earned individual awards. Chauncey Koulibali semi-finaled in Novice Division Poetry Interpretation. Ramon Martinez semi-finaled in novice division impromptu speaking. Eden McCall and Arianna Martin placed 5th in novice division Parliamentary Debate. Chauncey Koulibali & Lily Bufalino placed 4th in novice division Dual Interpretation. Max Rudd placed 4th in Open Division Poetry Interpretation. Colin Gesik and Brandon Roth placed 3rd in Open Division Policy Debate, earning a bid to the State Tournament. And Maeve Robinson and Andrea Hering placed 3rd in open division Public Forum debate, also earning a bid to the State Tournament. Way to go Oly Speechies! 12/7

The Sprague Olyanne Dance Team competed in the fall dance team championships at Rex Putnam high school on Saturday,  December 5. The team placed fourth in both novelty and pom against the best teams in the state. Overall, the Olyannes had a great fall season earning four first and five second place trophies at three local competitions in addition to performing at the state championships. Congratulations to all of the Olyannes! 12/7

Hey Olys, maybe you heard about last summer's Greece and Italy trip with Ms. Johnson and Mr. Curry. Maybe you heard about how awesome it was. Travel, culture, food, meeting new people. Get your date or your friends and don’t forget to buy your tickets this week for the  62nd annual Salem Snoball Dance.  You can still buy advanced tickets at Mr. Formal and The Bridal Gallery or go online to www.SnoballSalem.com .  At the door prices will be $35 for a single and $70 for a pair. When?  Saturday, Dec. 5 What time? 8:00pm to midnight.  Where? At the Oregon State Fairgrounds Pavilion.  So what are you waiting for?  Come and have fun. It’ll totally be worth it! 12/4

Skiers and snowboarders.  The Snowriders trip is scheduled and going to Mt. Hood Meadows on Saturday, Dec. 19th for a NIGHT trip. It’s $45 for bus and lift ticket.  Tuesday, Dec. 15th is the Deadline for money.  See Mr. Hatz in room 15A for applications and information as soon as possible. Beginners are encouraged to go! That’s Saturday Dec. 19th for the snowriders night trip.  12/2

Come out and get your first glimpse of your boys basketball teams at the 1st Oly Madness Night this Tuesday December 1st.  There is no admission but will be taking donations for Mitch Ekdahl's Oly Pageant fundraiser for Doernbecher's. Doors will open at 5pm and our Future Oly teams will begin scrimmages at 5:30, then the Freshmen team will scrimmage beginning around 6:30p, JV's around 6:50p and the varsity around 7:10p.  The student that is the best dressed in SFA Oly gear will win a prize plus a pizza. We will have a DJ rocking the gym, plus the jumbo tron will be up and running.  Look forward to seeing all you in the gym getting your first sneak peak at your Boys Basketball Team.   12/1

Hey DECA members attending the Blazers trip on Tuesday Dec. 1st, please meet in Ms. Pollard’s room at the beginning of 3rd period. The bus will leave promptly at 11:20. Also, if you are interested in attending the DECA State conference in February, pick up a packet in room 142. There will be a parent information meeting this Thursday night at 6pm.
