Assembly Schedule


Attention all Luau participants! All fees, including your $10 participation fee must be paid this morning. You will not receive your sport t-shirt or be allowed to participate in your event unless fees have been paid. Please see Mr. Mirsepassi in room 161 for more information.

Shirts for Luau are also for sale during lunch in the commons! Our very own Audrey Jarvie came up with the design, and it is out of this world! Shirts are $10. Come check them out and get in the spirit!

The 2nd Annual Sprague High School Table Tennis Championships will take place in the commons during Oly Luau. Events will include High School Men’s and Women’s Singles, Open Singles and High School Doubles. Contact Mr. Crystal to enter.

The Sprague Boosters are offering 2 $1000 Scholarships for college bound seniors who have been involved in Sprague High School Activities or Athletics. Pick up your application in the Athletic Office. The deadline for applying has been extended to next Tuesday at 3pm. (6/2)

Attention all baseball players.... There will be summer baseball tryouts being held Monday June 2nd at 3:00 on the varsity baseball field. Be sure to dress appropriately and go Oly’s!

Spanish club will be holding elections for next year's officers on Wednesday the 4th of June. If you are interested in running for office and voting, please be in room 118 at lunch by 11:10. It is especially important that any Spanish students interested in applying for the National Honor Society for Spanish and Portuguese attend this meeting. See you next Wednesday!


Is your breath rank?  Are you repelling those around you?  The freshman class has a solution!  Buy packs of gum for only $1.  Look for the table in front of the office at lunch.  Your social life, and friends will thank you.

Luau Update: Attention Olys! Our end of the year luau will be held this Friday from 3:00-6:30! There will be staff vs. student basketball, Junior vs. senior boys volleyball, and of course, Senior vs. junior girl Powder Puff Football! This year, we are also happy to announce that there will be games for fan's to participate in as well! During Powder Puff, there will be a bungee run, speed pitch machine, high-striker hammer strength challenge, and, best of all, dunk tanks with teachers in them! Food will also be provided during powder puff! Wristbands for entry will be available on Friday during lunch, and also at the door. Wristbands will be five dollars, and will give you access to all of the activities and food options available at Luau. Come celebrate the end of a great school year on Friday afternoon!

 The Sprague Book Club will be hosting its end-of-the-year celebration today in the library from 2:30-3:30 p.m.  Please celebrate with us.

Team Sprague Track and Field ended their season with a successful trip to the state meet at Hayward Field down at the U of O last weekend. All State honors went to Lindsey Dorsey in the 100 meters Hurdles and the Triple Jump, Levi Long and Nicole Logologo in the Shot Put.  Congratulations to all 14 of our athletes who went down and competed at Track Town, U.S.A.A reminder to all athletes who have not turned in their uniforms that those need to be returned to Coach Charles in P-33 or to the athletic office.  Bills for missing uniforms will be going out soon, so please return those immediately. Great Job on great season to all of our athletes, and we'll see you in December to start up again....

Attention Olys! Luau is finally here, and with it comes our final spirit week of the year! Today is hat day, tomorrow will by tie dye day, Thursday will be Hawaiian day, and Friday will be SFA/Sprague day! Celebrate the end of the school year by getting into the spirit and dressing up for our spirit days!

 The time is now upon us. The third annual U.S.S.R., the United Sprague Speech Revolution, is here. Join us as some of your favorite teachers debate topics ranging from marijuana legalization to the merit of video games, doing the reading, and weaponizing dolphins. Watch Mr. Nickel, Mr. Carnahan, Mrs. Burleson, Mrs. McElliott, Mr. Dey, Mr. Crystal, Mr. Curry, and Mr. Mirsepassi battle it out in a competition where you decide who wins. For a dollar a vote, or five votes for seven, you can let your voice be heard! Show up today after school and have a great time for a great cause, and watch Mr. Nickel get brought to school by the best in the world.

Hey Olys! Will you be feeling the need for doughnuts this Saturday? If so, you're in luck. Speech and Debate team members will be selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts this Saturday at the South Commercial Wal-Mart starting at 8am. You can buy a doughnut for a dollar, 3 for 2.50. Students!  Are you interested in learning more about the FBI?  The FBI’s Portland Division is now accepting application for its 5th annual Youth Leadership Academy to be held this summer, July 16-18th.  You will get to work with FBI Special Agents, developing leadership skills, doing some hands on forensics work, and even participate in a mock crime scene investigation.  This program is open to any high school student.   The application process is competitive, and acceptance is not guaranteed.  If you are interested, please come and get an application from the business office. The entries were judged on originality, theme presentation, and artistic quality. Their work will be featured in a calendar to be published later this year.   Congratulations to freshman Evan Spragg who qualified for the the National Freestyle wrestling tournament this summer.  Evan finished 3rd at the state freestyle tournament this past weekend in Corvallis.  Other Sprague place finishers were Jake Vaughn and Corson Davis who also qualified for the National tournament this summer.  Thomas Burdick, Sergei Poliakov and Justin Ellis are alternates for the National team as well.  Great job Olys!! The annual Sheep to Shawl event is scheduled for May 10. Volunteers are needed at two times: 9:30 – 1:00 and 12:30 to 4:15. They have a variety of activities to staff including helping with children’s crafts such as rope making, pioneer fashion show and “making sheep’s ear” head bands and watching over the historic houses and Mill.  It all comes with simple/easy training.
