The first ASL Club had a great turnout with twelve students showing up. We would like to congratulate our new club president, Taya Bob; our two new vice presidents, Jordyn Greene and Becca Johnston; and our new club secretary, Holly Wright. We decided to have our meetings every week, on Tuesdays in room 119 (the ASL classroom). So if you couldn't make it yesterday, then be sure to show up next Tuesday, November 1st. If you have any questions, ask Ms. Hatfield or any of the new club officers. We'll see you next Tuesday! (10/27)

On Wednesday the boys and girls cross country teams participated in the District meet.
The boys placed third and narrowly missed qualifying for the state meet as a team. The boys had their best performance in the past eight years. The girl’s team, which included four freshmen, placed sixth. The freshmen girls included three of the top ten all time best freshmen runners for Sprague.
The team yesterday recorded 25 new all time personal bests out of 34 runners.
Jacob Atkinson was a first team all district runner. Nathaniel Roberts was a second team runner.

The next meet is the State Meet on November 5. Jacob Atkinson qualified as an individual runner for a second year in a row. (10/27)

Congratulations to the Sprague Speech and Debate Squad for their outstanding work this last weekend at Willamette University. The team placed 3rd in debate. The following students earned individual honors. Austin Brooks placed 6th in junior division extemporaneous speaking. Devon O’Donnell placed 5th in senior division poetry interpretation. Grace Hanich placed 4th in junior division poetry interpretation. Alex Rabe placed 1st in junior division humorous interpretation. Quentin Michael & Freya Ruehr placed 3rd in junior division parliamentary debate. Austin Brooks & Bryce Landolt placed 5th, Jeff Metzger and Devon O’Donnell placed 3rd, and Nizar Ajanovic and Daniel Silberman placed 1st in senior division parliamentary debate. Last Saturday the Sprague boys and girls cross country teams ran in a meet in Albany.
Out of 29 racers, we had 12 who had all time personal bests and 9 people who had season's bests. The boys out defeated McNary, McKay and South. The girls out defeated North, McKay and South. Great job to all. Our next meet is this Wednesday at Bush Park. (10/4)
