The light of his lantern revealed the bodies of three dead sailors. The calendar revealed that they have survived trapped and alone for seventeen days after the attack. The experience of finding the bodies was devastating. No one was really the same again, said Fiske. Students, today on this 70th anniversary, remember those who died for freedom on this day that will live in infamy.
